Jacky Au
Clarinet
Dr. Au Kam Yuen Jacky is an experienced clarinet instructor, conductor and researcher. He received his Doctor of Education and Master of Arts from the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He also attained the LTCL (Trinity College London) for clarinet and has been serving as ensemble director and clarinet instructor in schools, including St. Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School, St. Joseph Primary School and Good Hope School etc.
His research interest includes the motivations on music learning, school music curriculum and music ensembles. He presented in international symposium frequently, including the Asia-Pacific Symposium for Music Education Research (APSMER) in Hong Kong (2015), Melaka (2017) & Macau (2019). He also delivered academic presentation and solo performance in the Nara University of Education in Japan.
Other than his academic contributions, Dr. Au is currently an active clarinet instructor. In recent years, he serves as the marker of the EdUHK Instrumental Studies Scheme and adjudicators of various music competitions. He is the President of the Clarion Clarinet Ensemble, winner of the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition Hong Kong 2019 with Gold Award.
